Here's something pretty special I made cause I love the original Spyro the Dragon and I decided to make this picture.

This picture originated from a doodle I made of Spyro cause I was bored and I had nothing to do but draw. The way I drew Spyro was entirely different from most pictures I've seen of Spyro art and what I did was pretty unique. I somehow visualized the lines on my blank paper and I could see Spyro on it but in a style that I use in art that most of my watchers have seen. Once I got done sketching Spyro, I truly loved the way I drew him. So much to the point that I wanted to color him in but because I wanted to add the Spyro logo along with a background, I left my sketch completely colorless and what I did next was digitally outline and color in Spyro all while listening to some classic Spyro soundtracks while working.


When I was coloring Spyro in, I wanted him to have the colors he had back in the day instead of the Skylanders colors he currently has which look a bit darker and his eyes were red. So what I did was of course find pictures of Spyro and use the colors from them. Most of the colors I used are from official Spyro artwork by Universal Interactive and Insomniac Games, though I used some colors from other Spyro fan art to get the colors I wanted Spyro to have and I of course altered the colors to fit the style of the Spyro I made.

When looking for a background for the picture, I wanted one to match that of the skyboxes that the original 3 Spyro games had instead of using a realistic one. I found one that perfectly fits with the Spyro picture so I used it and it looks awesome as the sound of thunder!

I had a bit of trouble finding the logo but luckily I was able to find a perfect HD Spyro logo to go with the picture and my gosh it just looks incredible!

I had a ton of fun and I spent a ton of time working on this picture cause I love Spyro very much and although later games in the series went downhill after Year of the Dragon, I will still play any Spyro game no matter what.

If anyone is still wondering which Spyro games I have (which I've mentioned before) I own every home console port of Spyro the Dragon

(This list is in the order I bought them and the system I have it for)

2016:

Spyro the Dragon (PS1/PS3 from PSN) (which the first game in the series and my most memorable one)

Ripto's Rage (PS1/PS3 from PSN) (which I have never played until I bought it in 2016)

Year of the Dragon (PS1/PS3 from PSN) (which is the first Spyro game I have played.... at least I think it was...)

The Eternal Night (Wii on Wii U) (which is still hard as nails!)


2017:

A Hero's Tail (PS2) (which is the very first game and first Spyro game I bought in 2017)

Dawn of the Dragon (PS3) (which I randomly saw at GameStop on April 1st and I had to buy it!)

A New Beginning (PS2) (which I saw at a video game store that sells old and new games and I had to buy it!)

Enter the Dragonfly (PS2) (which I bought for the exact same reason I bought A New Beginning at the same video game store)

And of course, every game in the Skylanders series from Spyro's Adventure all the way to Imaginators (that is until a new Skylanders game comes out! ).

(Like above, this is the order I bought each Skylanders game in the series as well as which version and which console port)

2016:

Spyro's Adventure (Wii) (which is the first Skylanders game I bought but haven't played it until I got a compatible Portal of Power)

SuperChargers (Wii U) (Dark Version on PS4) (which was the true first Skylanders game I played to which the Portal of Power also worked on Spyro Adventure. I bought the Dark version of SuperChargers for PS4 later in 2017 as I did not have Spitfire as he was not included in the Wii U Starter Pack)

2017

Imaginators (Wii U, PS4, PS3, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) (which is the only Skylanders game that I own for every system it's been released for. I have no idea why I bought it for every system but I figured, what the heck! I bought the Nintendo Switch version of Imaginators when it came out for the Switch as I didn't have the two characters that came with the Starter Pack which were King Pen and Golden Queen and I bought it so that I would have a game to play once I got my Switch and because I bought Imaginators on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, this makes it the very first Xbox 360 and Xbox One game I've bought)

Giants (Wii): Which I saw at GameStop along with Spyro's Adventure, Swap Force, Team Team, and the Wii version of SuperChargers and I had to buy it! (I didn't get Spyro's Adventure and SuperChargers as I already had it))

Swap Force (Wii) (Bought it for the same reason as Giants on the same day)

Trap Team (Wii): (Same as Giants and Swap Force. I still haven't played Trap Team as I'm still trying to look for the Trap Team Portal of Power and every pre-owned items for Skylanders have become extinct from the GameStop I go to)


Oh and if anyone is wondering, yes. I of course have a voice impression of Spyro. I have have attempted to do an impression of Spyro from the first game in the Spyro series all the way up to the latest game in the Skylanders series (including Skylanders Academy) which turned out pretty weird but cool. As far as I know the closest impression I can get to sounding exactly like Spyro is from the first game in the series. This also goes for the Skylanders Spyro (well at least up until SuperChargers as Spyro's voice in Imaginators is different). I of course tried to do a voice impression of Spyro from Ripto's Rage, Year of the Dragon, Enter the Dragonfly (as well as The Legend of Spyro series) but failed miserably! I'm guessing I sound bit like how Spyro sounded in those games but not very much. But I somehow sound a bit like Spyro from TLoS series just in a softer and more calm tone. If it's somehow possible, I could release audio of my Spyro impression sometime in the future. The same thing also goes for a Hero's Tail but in a more relaxed tone.
